A pinkish oval gem engraved with a portrait of a Sasanian queen, with a Pahlavi inscription in the field, set in a 19th century hallmarked gold ring with diamonds.

Literature

The gem is engraved with a portrait of a queen, likely with her name inscribed in Pahlavi around the edge. The Pahlavi language was the official language of the Sasanian Empire, which ruled Central and Western Asia for over 400 years. For a similar example see the Beazley Archive, no. 40002871.
