The oval gem is engraved with a dancing satyr, depicted nude with an animal skin draped over his raised right arm, his small tail visible behind, with a thyrsus in front of him. The gem is set in a substantial gold ring in an arts and crafts style, probably Edwardian, an engraving on the inside for Ali Girardet (?)
