This pair of earrings are shaped of gold sheet, with the ear wire hammered out of the same piece of tapered sheet. The decoration consists of raised ribs and hatching, which have been chased and scored from the surface.

Literature

This pair of earrings are of the navicella type. There is no indication of a closure of any kind, so it seems likely that the ear wires were bent or closed after insertion through the year. For the type see, P. Amiet, 'Bactriane Proto-Historique' Syria, Vol. LIV, 1977, p.114-115, fig.18.
