A naturalistically modelled foot of a child, with delineated toenails and rendered ankles.

Condition
Surface wear and chipping, mainly to the upper part. The remains of an old metal pin visible at the top. Minor infill to the top of the big toe and the second toe.
Close full details

Provenance

Nicolas Koutoulakis (1910-1996), Paris and Geneva; thence by descent

Literature

The soft modelling, size, and elegantly delineated details indicates that this foot once belonged to a figure of a child or perhaps even of the god Eros.
