A ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF DAPHNE

A ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF DAPHNE

CIRCA 1ST – 2ND CENTURY AD

Height: 26 cm

Identified as Daphne by the laurel wreath in her hair, her oval face with soft, youthful features, her thickly-lidded, almond-shaped eyes under finely-modelled brows, her fleshy lips curved into a slight smile, her chin rounded, her center-parted hair with deeply-drilled wavy locks pulled back into a chignon.
